Among Dongfureng's many identities, two are the most important: economist and teacher. At the same time, these two identities can be further interpreted as a common identity: teacher. The project is located in a historical and cultural preservation building, which is the grandmother's house where Mr. Dong was born. It is a Republican brick structure, covering an area of 285㎡ and a building area of 435㎡, with two entries and two floors. It mainly showcases Mr. Dong's academic achievements in economics, and combines Mr. Dong's personal influence with that of Ningbo by holding regular economics forums and salons here. Because of Mr. Dong's identity as a "teacher", the characteristics of this museum is traditional Chinese dwelling, and the main consideration of emotional expression in the space, the designer faced this space with "hidden light", and through the active intervention of lighting and a unique perspective, let this place finally through the active intervention and unique perspective of lighting, the space finally becomes the "teacher's" "home", and the light is used to evoke the emotional resonance of visitors and awaken their memories. Guided by the soft light, people are not only visiting the exhibition of an economist, but also like students visiting the teacher's home, exchanging their memories and respect for Mr. Dong through the exchange of memories of his deeds and life. The museum's main entrance faces north and is adjacent to the new road, and the facade remains as it was when it was first built, with the traces of age transformed into black and white and mottled walls. At the entrance, the bronze statue of Mr. Dong is clearly presented with the help of clever framing. The lighting especially adds two floodlights with focus and single lamp dimming functions, and through the coordination of angle and brightness, a scene of Mr. Dong reading a book under the moonlight with a weak light is vividly presented. With the wave-shaped luminous text on the frame wall, the sense of time travel is even stronger. Occasionally, the breeze rustles the bamboo leaves next to the statue, and the light reflects the bamboo shadows on the white wall, adding a sense of dynamism and vitality to the small courtyard. The linear light in the corridor is cleverly hidden within the round copper tube, and the light is reflected and spread downward, filling the space with a natural and diffuse state, weakening the presence of the lamps and organically integrating with the space. The museum's lobby plays a video of Mr. Dong's life, with only one chair placed in the large hall, as if Mr. Dong, who was reading a book in the small courtyard, had just gotten up from here and paced to outside. The two lights set on both sides of the screen not only avoid interference with the video viewing, but also create a sense of ritual. The meticulous light and the heavy shadows form a vivid picture that provokes endless thoughts. The backdrop of the right-turned exhibition panel is red in color, and the concealed linear lights illuminate the contents of the display, while the addition of track lights on the ceiling makes the effect more full. Lanterns are custom-designed at various locations in the space, bringing visitors a sense of "home" and warmth by removing the programmed lighting of the exhibition space. The linear lights were hidden under the elevated floor, and the light shone upward through the gaps, making the rough stone three-dimensional and accurately presenting the original simplicity, reflecting Mr. Dong's realm of "This is a humble room, but I am a virtuous one". The walls and floors of the three open rooms on the second floor are all wood veneer and dark in color, making them slightly narrow. The designer added wide beam angle wall lights on both sides of the column to make the space more open and avoid falling into the pattern of lighting design for exhibition space. On the basis of the soft light space, the study and living room are emphasized with well-designed light: the study is partially illuminated with 30-45 degree incidence angle to create more shadows, which is also more in line with the light and shadow relationship of the residence space in Mr. Dong's era. For the installation of "The Grace of Drops" in the background of the space, the designer uses a lamp to illuminate the center of it, allowing the light to spread out with the ripple shape, creating a visual focal point with great memory characteristics, which also alludes to the spreading thoughts and influence of Mr. Dong. These "thoughts" are randomly illuminated by light, and as one walks around and watches, one will fully experience the shock of being struck by these emotions. In the theme exhibition hall of educational contribution, 64 doctoral students who have been deeply impressed by Mr. Dong put their emotions with their teachers into a torch-like box, which means the fire of stars and the transmission of fire. The designers added a structure at the bottom of the box and hid the linear lights, so that the box can glow through and present the contents. The 4-degree beam angle spotlights on the ceiling precisely illuminate each piece of content. The last stop on the "home" tour is the café. Light from the cracks in the floor provides basic illumination; a few narrow beams of light from the ceiling illuminate the table tops and the carefully selected contents on the walls; hidden light from the storage cabinet and a table lamp on top of the cabinet allow visitors to sit quietly and exchange their respects for Mr. Dong. Before turning around to leave, one couldn't help but look back. It was late at night, and Mr. Dong was still sitting in the small courtyard, with light and shadow intermingling as before. When people finally left, Mr. Dong's "home" returned to calm, the warm light from the room and the small courtyard light together, simple but warm.
