Deconstructing the Poetic Realm of Temporality
As a new landmark dining destination within Taikoo Li Sanlitun, TARENTUM DOME conceptual store employs "all-day Brunch & Bistro" as its medium to orchestrate a temporal dialogue spanning classical antiquity and contemporary modernity. Through the symbolic recombination of metallic meshes and fragmented motifs from ancient Greek architecture, it crafts an immersive dining theater blending sacred grandeur with urban modernity at the city’s core.
Symphonic Materiality: A Luminous Narrative
The architectural façade echoes the chromatic palette of Athenian Acropolis ruins through deconstructed classical volumes. A semi-transparent curtain wall of galvanized metal mesh engages in dramatic interplay with Taikoo Li’s native stone surfaces – manifesting ethereal ambiguity under daylight before transforming into a luminous installation at night, achieving poetic symbiosis through gradient transparency. The modular mesh system subverts conventional construction logic, employing pliable frameworks and suspension technologies to realize three-dimensional kinetic morphologies.
Dome Reimagined: Spatial Poetics
Central dining areas reinterpret the Pantheon’s iconic dome through an 8-meter-diameter levitating mesh structure that bridges interior-exterior experiences. Parametric modeling deconstructs classical dome elements into 325 bespoke modules, digitally reconstructing ceiling and bar formations. As natural light cascades through metallic mesh apertures, it generates evolving matrices of luminous patterns, echoing the chiaroscuro rhythms of Parthenon colonnades.
Athenian Ciphers Woven Through Texture
Interior spaces employ "Neo-Attic" material storytelling: micro-cement walls bearing hand-applied patinas, Aegean-hued stone surfaces engraved with 3D-replicated Acropolis reliefs, and Carrara marble bars perpetuating Hellenic geometric perfection.
Ritualized Transition Through Deconstruction
The transitional space connecting to the terrace transforms into an architectural excavation site: structural columns reimagined as Mediterranean niche arrays, exposed concrete textures juxtaposed against brass railings. Staircase design transcends functionalism through staggered cubic volumes, constructing spatial sequences reminiscent of Propylaea’s grandeur, each turn encoding proportional secrets of Athena’s temple columns.
Vessel of Perpetual Memory
Transparency governs spatial philosophy through tripartite deconstruction – material translucency, visual permeability, and temporal synesthesia – elevating dining into contemporary rituals of civilizational dialogue. As patrons traverse these veils of metallic mesh, the afterglow of Acropolis sunsets, Aegean breezes, and industrial aesthetics achieve improbable harmony. This transcends architectural mimicry, becoming a fugue of eternal recurrence and rebirth, memory and metamorphosis.
