The DHL MEA Innovation Center is a mobile state-of-the-art facility where customers, partners, academia, and thought leaders can experience the next generation of logistics in an interactive showroom environment. Currently, DHL has innovation centers in Chicago, Cologne and Singapore. The MEA Innovation Center in Dubai is the first to be completely mobile. The team’s brief was to create a 450-sqm temporary structure that could tour various countries in the Middle East & Africa through 2027. Thus, “INNOVATION THAT MOVES” was designed to be built, dismantled, and then transported to the next location.
The integrated showroom and innovative experience connect visitors to the heartbeat of the brand. Within the showroom, an impressive display of DHL’s latest innovative solutions inspires creativity and portrays tangible representations of DHL's creative personality. The showroom is designed around the notion that every DHL innovation center is the nucleus of its customer-centric innovation approach of today and the future. It is built as a continuous and open space that is conceptual and is a physical translation of the brand’s creative process.
Envisioning the next game changer requires a space to wonder about the big question: “What’s Next?” The large floor space can be used for a variety of functions, such as product launches, workshops, and meetings; rooms can be transformed into experiential spaces or used for business conversations and group collaborations through modular wall panels. The double-height ceiling visually connects the open workspace, making a lasting impression on visitors to the center.
True to its identity as an innovation hub, the Mobile MEA Innovation Center is the first-of-its-kind modular building constructed off-site and transported to Dubai. As a mobile innovation center, building materials are reused when the building is moved to another area, reducing the amount of waste produced. A combination of naturally cooling materials is used to help mitigate the environmental effects of the humid climate.
