This small public welfare project was jointly initiated by Luhu A8 Design Center, Animals Asia Foundation and Wuhan Small Animal Association. The goal is to use limited public donations to create an environmentally friendly adoption area, so that potential adopters and dogs can enhance the bond, thus improving the success rate of adoption. We define this design theme as "rescue + home".
The design sorts out the basic adoption process of "arrival - meet - choose - sign - take photos - leave". There are two key points in this process. The first is the "claimed revolving door" : through this revolving door, adopted pup pies find a warm home and become "dog winners". This "dog born change" is reflected in the moment when the indoor and outdoor span, so use the "revolving door" design, which has a pictorial sense and image significance, to express and highlight this moment. The second key point is the "photo" window sill. where adopters are photographed with their puppies, which reinforces the sense of ritual and encourages prospective adopters to follow u p:"Look how happy the family is in front of us, and we need to find our love!"
The circular shape of the revolving door reflects behind the adopter, giving the adopter a great light. Due to the nature of temporary construction and the limited cost of the outdoor area, the design uses 40x40 galvanized square pipe to create a large cage, surrounded by orange sun board. The large cage is reinforced with a 2MX2M small column mesh unit, which enhances th e fineness and lightness of the structure. Cross lights are used on the top to enhance the up ward sense of ritual. The afternoon sun shines on the building, creating a rainbow of charm.
