Two young doctors founded the dermatology practice, «rappjderm» in Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland 5 years ago. Due to their great success new, larger premises were quickly required.
Therefore, in a nearby residential and commercial building, a 300 m2 space was converted into a high-quality and technically state-of-the-art practice with surgery, laboratory, pharmacy and X-ray rooms. The larger layout made it possible to include double-sized examination rooms.
In addition to dermatological patients, aesthetic medicine is another focus of the practice. Beauty, naturalness, health and modern medicine therefore formed the conceptual design basis of the practice. An additional, separate waiting room offers more privacy to aesthetic dermatology patients. The designs of the consultation rooms were personalized for each doctor.
Ceiling luminaires create diffuse lighting and the desired luminance for examination. A decorative lighting concept with sculptural ceiling lights was developed especially for the practice. Wall lights stage the large-format art displayed in the connecting corridor which functions as a gallery.
Handmade wallpaper made with a wafer-thin layer of concrete gives the interior walls an industrial look and feel which is supplemented by golden light accents.
The combination of wood, concrete and gold leaf was chosen as the basic material because of its simple and natural yet refined and elegant surface structures.
