Perched at 3,600 meters on a Meili Snow Mountain viewing platform, the Deqin Meri Poodom Hotel by Wu Bin, founder of W.DESIGN, embodies a journey from the mundane to the sacred. Exploring the essence of "locality," the design transforms this space into "my home in the snow mountains"—a sanctuary for deep dialogue with nature, faith, and the self.

Designer Wu Bin deconstructs the design language and sensory elements of Tibetan dwellings to infuse the space with the power of the mountains. Through sound, color, texture, and form, the design seeks equilibrium and meaning between the sacred and the quotidian.

Drawing inspiration from the texture of local whitewash and the square structures of "Tnkhar" houses, the design integrates modernist architectural language with the raw, organic spirit of the locality. The narrow gaps between the stone façade and the pathways become gateways to a journey of introspection. Each step reveals glimpses of distant mountains and light, creating a narrative of anticipation.

The concept of "Moment" encapsulates not just the present experience but also the lasting impression etched into memory. Rooted in this spirit, the hotel embodies the notion of "Moment" while manifesting it as "My Home by the Snow Mountains."

Every visit to the hotel is a special experience, every memory uniquely personal. As a vessel of Modern Orientalism, W.DESIGN seeks to transcend traditional notions of hospitality, focusing instead on creating a deeply spiritual journey for travelers. From spatial design to furnishings, from the interplay of objects to the ambience of the site, designer Wu Bin and his team have employed design as a medium to forge connections between people, spaces, and nature.

Against this sacred natural backdrop, the hotel transcends being a mere physical sanctuary. It becomes a spiritual cavern open to the magnificence of Meili Snow Mountain—a space where travelers can recharge, converse with their inner selves, and, most importantly, gain the clarity to see their authentic selves.
