Innovation
The site is home to Deloitte’s first Australian Centre for Innovation, located in the innovation precinct along Adelaide’s North Terrace. With access to the University of Adelaide and the BioMed District, it resides in the heart of SA’s technology and innovation ecosystem. The challenge was to create a workspace that conveys Deloitte’s global DNA while featuring a distinctly local imprint. Boasting highest standards in workplace wellness, technological innovation and inclusive design, the space also captures references to local landscape and industry. The project team used Deloitte’s Igloo immersive digital technology to optimise the design delivery process, expediting decisionmaking, streamlining delivery and removing ambiguity from the design process, resulting in highly efficient and error-free program delivery.

Creativity
Home to ‘The Academy’, Deloitte’s inhouse graduate program, the design is intended to appeal to graduates and partners alike, embodying a contemporary sensibility with high functionality and spatial pragmatism.
The office is highly aesthetic, embracing a distinctly local texture and celebrating regional craft. The design celebrates SA’s individuals and industry, referencing pioneers of invention, objects and operations, from the Adelaide-born Hills Hoist to the humble wine cask. JamFactory designed feature pendant lights and handles for the client floor, featuring organic forms that mimic grapevines. Merlot accents reference the viticulture industry, mimicking the pigment of crushed grapes. Textures and finishes are sensory and crafted, from ceramic tiles, raw marble, and bronze-and-timber handles that reference the local red rivergum forest. The art strategy celebrates Adelaide’s rich culture and diversity, the collection featuring a strong representation of local First Nation and women artists.

Functionality
The highly flexible workfloor features adaptable spaces and inclusive work zones. Moveable acoustic curtains and operable partitions support various modes of use, from client hosting to educational forums. A Smart Technology strategy leverages latest trends and insights. The design supports Deloitte's workplace objectives, amplifying collaboration, encouraging balanced work practices, enhancing workflows with meaningful technology, attracting and nurturing the next generation of leaders, and cultivating a connected community. The workplace supports diversity and inclusion in people, capabilities, culture and ideas, equipped with neurodiverse focus spaces, gender-neutral bathrooms and joinery designed in line with the highest standard AS1428.2.
