Deep Bar is a two-story venue in Dnipro city (Ukraine) that unites a spacious underground bar with a tiny floristic cafe on the ground floor.
The main challenge was a tricky space with a non-standard configuration. We started our work with an analysis of its advantages and disadvantages. We aimed to create the legend to emphasize features of the space and reflect them in the interior.
We offered our client the 'Roots and Sprouts’ concept. It highlights the strong points of the space and unites the venue’s scenography with roots, old columns, bricks, reused wood bars, stumps, and soft chamber lighting.
A small hall on the first floor has showcase windows that overlook one of the central streets in Dnipro. The floristic cafe with a few tables locates there. In the big transparent fridge you can see flowers next to wine bottles. The first floor works as the entering hall that leads to the body part of the venue in a roomy basement space.
The main material in the interior of the basement bar is oak wood. We used some recused boards that used to be applied in another building about 70 years ago. Honest touchable surfaces along with the thoughtful lighting scheme created a chamber-like cozy vibe.
In the hall with the mixology bar you can see roots installation hanging from the ceiling. It conceptually connects two levels of the venue. It symbolizes the roots of the flowers from the floristic cafe on the floor above. This way we reflected the idea of dipping that is connected with the name of the place. A flower can not be without roots, as well as anything in this world has its reasons and consequences. Everything is connected, and every action has its roots. There is something to think about seating at the bar counter.
