Concept

In collaboration with De L’Europe Amsterdam and some of the Netherlands’ greatest creative talents, D/DOCK developed 't Huys – a space where Amsterdam's icons of art and style converge under one roof to celebrate culture and craftsmanship in a collection of 14 landmark suites, introducing a new luxury hospitality concept to the Dutch capital.

From the Van Gogh Museum to couturier Ronald van der Kemp and jewelry designer Bibi van der Velden, each suite embodies our commitment to pushing boundaries in design, reflecting the distinct vision of each 't Huys partner. Stepping into the suites is like embarking on a journey across radically different worlds, celebrating art, film, design, and fashion.

Suite 242 serves as a design statement to be completed by guests' usage and emotional experiences; a grey desert, a liminal space devoid of recognisable spatial elements that disorient yet challenge them to interact with the environment without preconceptions, as an artist or child would.

Designed with an approach in sync with fashion, design, and art, Suite 148 serves as a white canvas to highlight Ronald van der Kemp's work, and as a multifunctional stage where various activities can be performed, including events, private dinners, art exhibitions, and business meetings, in addition to providing a luxury sleeping experience.

Suite 144, devoted to music lovers, combines hospitality with the spirit and values of The Media Nanny agency, creating a space that cares for its guests like a hug, with a feminine touch and homely atmosphere, infused with a vibrant and pop twist. Always ready to transform according to the needs and preferences of its guests, the interior design can function as a cosy workspace or a beautiful lounge for hosting parties and celebrations.

Codesigned with the artist duo Sisters Janssen, Suite 252 immerses guests into another dimension, a playful, colorful world that celebrates women and the power of diversity, with its voluptuous shapes and daring colors. It is not just a room but an embracing artistic experience.

Suite 158 is Bracha and Daan’s unique room with a view, celebrating the city of Amsterdam and the art of cinema. It transforms into a private cinema for the most passionate movie lovers.

Suite 248 offers a private museum experience, connected to Van Gogh’s mind and work. The environment combines the unique charming character of the hotel with contemporary gestures, creating connections to the artist’s journey in unexpected ways.

These 14 spaces have been tailor-made to suit each tenant, with unique spatial features, atmospheres, and experiences reflecting the brand’s or icon’s values and personality. Moreover, our blended lifestyle approach, reinforced by the hospitality experience of De L'Europe Amsterdam, sees each suite transform throughout the day to encompass a wide range of activities spanning business, performances, philanthropy, and multidisciplinary events
