In the beginning of 2016 we were asked to create an office space with the requirement that it should be different, untypical and in its own way inspiring and motivating compared to other offices. Impressed by typical start-up-spaces and co-working-offices, our client wanted us to create a function-driven office space that gives the people who have to work there, the opportunity to think freely, work efficiently and just feel comfortable while they have to spend their time there.
The general specifications were rather basic: They wanted around 10 workplaces, a conference area, a chill-out-area and a separated room for servers, hardware and different consumption items.
The crux of this project was to develop a functional and attractive arrangement of these elements within the available space of roughly 200 square meters. On the way we have discussed many possible options but the favourite idea that we wanted to realize was to build the chill-out-area on top of the required server room, and make it accessible by steps.
Since the whole interior was designed in a rather minimal way, we have used only a few vibrant materials that speak for itself, like Aleppo pine plywood, European larch and raw steel to create a charming and warm atmosphere.
