Chongqing has a nickname called 'Foggy City', by which we got inspired and integrated the Chongqing‘s climatic characteristics, the fog element on the base of ‘Heritage’ theme to present this experience shop.
Innovation : We made the fog into many visible mini hexagons, decorated with different shades of colors, to make the theme wall composed of safe deposit box doors. The lower right corner of each door is set with a unique number stamp, such as 5201314, which is the homophone ‘I love you forever’ in Mandarin. Looking at this wall body from a distance, it is as if the fog is seen by magnifying the pixels many times, hazy and quite meaningful. We let the fog not only stay on the wall, but also extend upward to the whole ceiling and downward to the whole ground.
Creativity : In fact, the fog itself has no color, but the city surrounded by fog has light and color. The interweaving and gradation of orange and blue in the space is like a morning or evening in Chongqing, where warm sunlight or light shines through the fog and sets off the blue sky. We used 6 shades of orange and 5 shades of blue on each side of ceiling, wall and floor. The total 33 orange and blue colors of the three sides with various materials are matched together to perfectly present the visual effect of the fog spreading throughout the space.
Functionality: In order to give people passing by the store a glimpse of the orange and blue "smoky" light inside, we replaced one of the walls with two layers of spaced glass screens to extend the visual depth and make the whole space more visible. In the ‘Heritage’ theme series, there is also the carousel jewelry display bar table at the center of the shop, which can automatically rotate to show the jewelry display to people. Moreover, the carousel jewelry display bar makes the atmosphere in the store more active and dynamic.
Sustainability : For the flooring material of the whole store, we chose terrazzo tiles that are eco-friendly. Used glass and stones are recycled by the material producer, then broken up, pressed and dyed with the orange and blues colors that matches our project to become the recyclable terrazzo tiles.
