This project presents an engaging renovation design project focused on a multi-story residence that has stood for 40 years. The total area, which includes a balcony, measures 311 square meters. With a clear vision, the homeowner seeks to rejuvenate this cherished property through thoughtful re-planning. Consequently, this initiative aims not only to breathe new life into the residence but also to enhance its functionality, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of its inhabitants.
The comprehensive design encompasses an open kitchen that includes a cooking island, a round dining table with a seating capacity for ten individuals, and a designated tea-making area. Additional features comprise a home gym, a sauna equipped with both hot and cold pools, a home theatre, an open study, a landscaped garden pond, and two bedrooms. Furthermore, the spatial arrangement of all rooms is meticulously aligned with established Feng Shui principles.
Upon entering the room, one will observe that one side features an open kitchen accompanied by an island. The kitchen island serves as the primary light source in the public area, enhanced by a row of windows positioned above the worktop. Centrally located in the space is a large round table that accommodates up to 10 people. Further into the area, there is a designated tea preparation area and a tea bar, both illuminated by additional windows that contribute to the overall brightness of the public space. This design ensures that the entire public area benefits from excellent natural light throughout the day, minimizing the need for artificial lighting.
The prolonged façade of the residence is illuminated by sunlight and accommodates the primary bedroom, a sauna equipped with both hot and cold tubs, a gym, and an additional guest bedroom. The designated equipment rooms have been strategically planned to enhance the home's functionality while simultaneously creating a visually cohesive and atmospheric environment.
Upon ascending the stairs adjacent to the tea table, one will observe that the upper floor is designed with an open-plan layout, which incorporates a half bathroom and a storage room. Centrally located within this area is the audio-visual section, explicitly accentuated by a wall-mounted television. In proximity to this section, there is a sunken study, while an L-shaped bar is strategically positioned on one side. This architectural design promotes a sense of spaciousness by creating varying levels that enhance both visual interest and circulation throughout the space.
The entertainment room is designed with two floor-to-ceiling windows that offer an unobstructed view of the surrounding garden and pool landscape. By opening these windows, the indoor environment can be seamlessly integrated with the outdoor space. On days of favorable weather, the windows can be fully retracted, allowing the homeowner to experience the carefully landscaped greenery in the midst of a vibrant city high-rise.
