Mogan Mountain, a branch of Tianmu Mountain, gained its fame by a Chinese historic story about a General in Spring and Autumn Period named Moye casted swords here. It is one of the four famous summer resorts and a modern villa center because of its unique natural scenery and resources. CRCC and Binjiang Property selected this site as anew way to have a conversation with Mogan Mountain. The project aims to build a Zen style resort villa for a pursuit of more comfortable mountain life. The key design point of "mountain residence" focuses on "mountain", which means to show the space like it grows out of mountain spring and bamboo forest. Soft wood color is the dominant tone as wood is the synonym of natural economy. The Mogan Mountain Shan Yu project brings the atmosphere of bamboo forest in to show the original ecology of natural scenes. Behind the forcourt is a reception waiting area that separates the forecourt with the central court as a rest room before entering the main space.Decorations under the corridor is in simple symmetrical spread of circles and squares, solemn and rigorous, cozy but not lazy. Instead of invisible walls, Chinese traditional screens are selected as boundaries within the main space to realize the emotional communication between people inside and natural mountains and bamboos outside. The first floor is as a culture showcase, the slightly curved transom extends through the whole reception area, which makes it more spacious. An ancient utensil stands in the entrance solemnly, the classical bronze colored umbrella type floor lamp, all furnitures and decorations are in historical tune but designed to fit living habit and aesthetic of modern people. Mogan mountain, is with water on every peak and springs by every step. It inspires the design of the basement level. Flexible pendants reflected in water surface bring the fresh forest air in. The negociation area is full of Zen theme and tea culture elements. Sparkling wood charcoal in the fireplace drive away the coldness of midnight forest. Books, calligraphies, movable type sculptures, evething here shows the free and cozy living scenes. Swimming pool and Yoga room satisfy the daily needs of the dwellers in Mogan Shan Yu. Interial lighting design combined with natural lights light up the pond in the room. Peace is the only word here. Matrix designs the Zen style life museum aiming to attract visitors to feel the mountain, water, bamboo and the emotions Morgan tells to time and space with heart and soul.
