COSMO is a trendy mall located in Chengdu, China. In China, young people are flocking to Chengdu, forming the most youthful and dynamic consumer market in the country. The continuous renewal of new blood is stimulating niche cultures such as rap, skateboarding, electronic music, retro, and bikers to thrive in the city.

COSMO was formerly a department store. How to help the old mall to stimulate new vitality and form a new niche culture gathering place is the problem that the project needs to solve. Oft Interiors takes youth culture and trendy consumption as the original point of creation, reorganizes the consumption dynamic and eliminates spatial boundaries. Using ceiling and floor patterns to form new spatial relationships, the space is designed to create a flexible public space, so that various experiences, such as pioneering art curatorial exhibitions, brand launch events, live music, trendy retail flash mob, independent designer SHOWROOM 3.0, etc. can find their own reasons to happen here.

The space uses a lot of metal components, plain concrete, LED screens and other materials to create a futuristic and visually impactful consumer scene, providing an appropriate venue for brands to allow new possibilities for different cultures to occur in various gatherings and collisions.

The continuous content operation is the biggest vitality of COSMO. When the brand is not just the store, the manager is not just the owner of the store, and the consumer is not just the consumer, they are combined with the circle culture and naturally become a part of the community. A relationship beyond the ordinary business and consumer is born: these consumption modes of association and interest group become another place for young people to belong in the city.
