Located in London’s Paternoster Square, Convene Sancroft, St. Paul’s is a new model for meetings and events, where premium hospitality and spatial adaptability converge to create a place that is as human as it is high-performance.
Innovation
Convene Sancroft, St. Paul’s redefines what a venue can be. The project incorporates retractable walls, mobile furniture, gallery lighting, and AV-integrated ceilings to transform spaces seamlessly. The entire program is driven by a hospitality ethos, shifting away from traditional commercial office logic and introducing a human-centred model that blends work, events, and social interaction under one roof. The user journey mirrors the civic openness of the adjacent square: welcoming, intuitive, and non-hierarchical.
Creativity
The spatial narrative is rooted in duality, merging classic and contemporary, permanence and adaptability. The design draws from Elizabethan patterns and materials but modernises them through a calming white backdrop, sculptural forms, and minimalistic finishes. A sweeping curved staircase serves as both an architectural anchor and a moment of drama, creating a strong sense of arrival and orientation. The project resists branding uniformity, instead crafting a highly site-specific, emotionally resonant environment. Convene Sancroft St. Paul’s feels curated, not corporate.
Functionality
Every detail is designed to support human connection and experience. The open-plan layout removes traditional corridors in favour of visual transparency and fluid transitions. Key amenities including a ground-floor bar, chef-led catering areas, and a variety of meeting and breakout zones, encourage spontaneous collaboration and social interaction. Wayfinding is embedded in the architecture through spatial flow and strategic sightlines. By removing physical and psychological barriers, the space enables users to navigate, connect, and work with ease.
Eco-Social Impact
Sustainability underpins every layer of the design. Materials were selected to align with BREEAM “Excellent” standards, and demand-led ventilation dynamically adjusts airflow based on occupancy, reducing energy use while maximising air quality. The space responds to social shifts post-Covid, providing a venue that fosters reconnection, combats isolation, and supports hybrid work culture. By prioritising flexibility over permanence, and hospitality over hierarchy, Convene Sancroft St. Paul’s enables long-term relevance and broader community engagement. It’s not just a venue, it’s a social infrastructure designed for wellbeing, adaptability, and shared experience.
