Compartés is an inventive chocolatier and design-driven, California brand renowned for its artisanal, small batch chocolate creations favored by Hollywood A-listers, luxury brands and clients including The Golden Globes, Vogue, Vanity Fair and American Express. We wanted the flagship store to reflect the thoughtfulness and heritage that is infused within every piece of chocolate and truly embody the art of chocolate making. The concept is a modern interpretation of the classic European confectionaries of the early 1900s as seen through a California lens. Dusky emerald and golden hues imbue the petite 430 sq-ft space with a rich palette to a jewel-box effect, and all of the selected materials in the design are rooted in tradition, from the patinaed copper and brass to the ebonized wood, Venetian plaster walls, leathered marble, and hand-carved onyx pendant lighting fixtures.
