Cobild HQ is a workplace that authentically externalizes the values of the business it houses, offering a visceral experience for the company’s ethos – ‘building a relationship for life’. The interior philosophy and planning principals are driven by four signatures: communication, connection, honesty, teamwork. Breaking the mold of regular office desk configuration, the Cobild team enjoy clear sight-lines, visual connection and informed spatial configuration with not a single staff member facing a wall. Encouraging health and well-being, an abundance of natural greenery contributes to the 5-star Green Star rated building. With the interiors focusing on authentically sustainable materials, certified timber veneer and an abundance of eco paneling complement the eco-friendly terrazzo flooring throughout. All of these aspects marry seamlessly with the light, transparent exterior form, external courtyard with tree focal, as well as the raw and authentic period facade. The addition of an innovative perforated central staircase floods both work floors with natural light and is an important architectural gesture that reinforces the idea of connection and communication. A considered curation of textured materiality in the open-plan environment, the space encourages inspiring and productive collaboration enabling employees to thrive. Two custom stone island benches in the communal kitchen invite congregation, their monolithic form declaring time for social connection and conviviality.
