The hotel is inspired by the travels of Ming Dynasty painter Huang Ke-hui, who captured Nanjing's beauty in his masterpiece,"The Eight Views of Jinling."Each space in the hotel is themed around a scene from his journey, creating an immersive experience that transforms the property into a living canvas of art and history.
The design philosophy centers on"Nanjing on Canvas,"where the hotel's journey begins at the 1F and B2 lobbies("Mountain Ranges")and progresses through forests, moonlit nights, hidden treehouses, lakes, boats, lotus ponds, and ends in a serene sunset village. Each area is meticulously themed to evoke the corresponding painting, offering a seamless narrative experience.
The design incorporates natural materials like stone, wood, and textiles, inspired by Nanjing's landscapes.Eco-friendly practices, such as maximizing natural light, green roofs, and energy-efficient systems, ensure minimal environmental impact while enhancing the guest experience.
The hotel's spaces are designed to be multifunctional. For example, the banquet hall("Boat")can be reconfigured for various events, while the SPA and pool("Lake")offer adaptable wellness areas. This flexibility caters to diverse needs without compromising the thematic coherence.
The project aims to promote Nanjing's cultural heritage, boost local tourism, and create economic opportunities.By integrating sustainable design, it also minimizes environmental disruption. This unique blend of art, history, and modern design creates a memorable journey that leaves a lasting impression on guests and contributes positively to the community.
