Design challenge To express CHOCOLAPHIL as a specialty of a chocolate shop, I focused on the ingredient of chocolate which is cacao. I was creating a visible image of cacao as shapes such as trees and seeds. And on the other hand, I was using a blue color as the ocean as if the cacao is traveling across the ocean. And also trying utilizing aluminum foil that was inspired by the popular wrapping material of a chocolate bar. Design result By using mirror finished pillars, I can create trunks of trees, which is cacao trees. The ceiling is arranged by the irregularly patterned mirror as the view of the forest which is the concept of this store as “Forest of cacao”. The mirrored pillars and ceilings are also providing the gimmicks that reflection of the moments of fresh-baked Gâteau au Chocolat, the blue-colored interior that set randomly, and the activities of people in the store.
