CHICA Miami celebrates a blend of contemporary and Latin American influences. The design concept pairs a vibrant palette of tropical colors with regional inspirations from Cuba, Mexico and Peru and Venezuela, while referencing the vibrant Miami nightlife. Entertainment spaces feature intricate mosaic tile work from the entrance to the lounge, with a blackened metal mesh ceiling and an adjacent stage overlooking an outdoor dining area. The atmosphere is seamless between indoor to outdoor – with a fully open-able glazing wall and concrete floor tiles that connect the performance space with the outside. The main bar and dining area are tucked beneath a canopy of hanging plants. The bar is a striking, monumental two-story structure framed by columns of handmade plaster and accents of gold stencil work in a motif commonly found in South American cement tile work. The main dining area features a color palette of terra cotta, brass, and rich blues influenced by the culture, textures, and craftsmanship of Latin America. Dynamic pendant lighting overhead creates an aura of romance, while weathered flooring compliments the two-tone concrete, accented by brass inlay. Under a translucent roof covered by a trellis of draping greenery, the courtyard offers more intimate dining. The secluded garden area with its big, open arches enables guests to pass directly from the bar onto the garden terrace, with floors of cement-patterned tile and walls covered in graffiti mosaics of tropical birds and Amazonian animals giving the impression of stepping out onto a year-round Spanish courtyard.
