With 200 sqm closed area and 70 sqm porch, this house is in Çeşme, a popular summer resort of Turkey. With the client’s natural, plain preferences, we aimed for a warm, welcoming house with comfort and elegance. Harmony of materials comes first, adding function and quality to the blend of pale colours with refreshing choices. This modernist interior has a minimalist aesthetic of clean surfaces, and an eclectic selection of furniture with detailed lines, forming a uniform environment. Devoted to the Aegean climate we were inspired by blend of Scandinavian and South American, contemporary architectural understanding. With presence of mid-century, humble but detailed approach, furniture is custom designed and hand crafted, expressing a synchronized style. The double-height living room is the heart of the house, adjoined on the same level with open-plan dining table, kitchen, and master bedroom on the 1st floor. The oak flooring gives a warm atmosphere and stone flooring divides the area for different uses.
Wooden shutters maximize natural light, forming an airy, playful ambiance while reclaiming the privacy. Light pouring in illuminates the 1st level, eliminating the need for artificial lights. Joyous patterns playfully pervade in the form of hand woven cane panels and leather mirrors. Overlooking to garden, the glass openings placed to minimize distinction between the outside and the interior, letting the view of mesmerizing Aegean sunset with the light summer breeze.
