The house is a contemporary interpretation of an hacienda, fitting the architectural program around a big patio. This hacienda is comprised vollumetrically by five white concrete intersecting pavilions. The slabs are oriented perpendicular to each other, with one slab serving as the primary living and sleeping area, while the other slabs houses public areas, the kitchen, dining, and utility spaces. The intersection of the slabs within’ its tall and clear glass sliding doors creates a blurring boundary between the interior and exterior spaces.

The design emphasizes a seamless flow between the interior and exterior, with large sliding glass doors and windows that open up to the surrounding landscape, primary element in the design concept. The patios and courtyards provide opportunities for outdoor living and dining, while also allowing natural light and ventilation to penetrate deep into the interior spaces.

The surrounding landscape is carefully integrated into the design, with native plantings and outdoor seating areas that enhance the connection between the house and its environment. The house is situated on a gently sloping site, with views of the surrounding mountains and valleys that can be enjoyed from both the interior and exterior spaces.

Regarding the materials used, natural stone has been chosen for the public and exterior areas, wood for the bedrooms, and concrete for the service areas. The walls have been clad in neutral-toned stone, and the bridges and pavilions have been constructed with large floor-to-ceiling windows, accompanied by wooden blinds. The ceilings vary depending on the space, using concrete or wood according to each area’s function.

Overall, the design of the house is a celebration of the natural beauty of its surroundings, with a focus on creating a harmonious and seamless connection between the built environment and the landscape.
