A brand store showroom designed to display the most innovating materials in wood flooring for architectural use in a way different to all others. Showing the newest wood products to concerning clients and architects in a way that inspires to reinvent the use of wood flooring and wood cladding in the future.

We had the unique task to create a new HQ for the renowned Dutch company, BVO Woodworks. Making a brand store showroom for their innovative wood flooring and cladding serving as an inspirational library to show off the vast possibilities of their products showcased in a distinguished and serene setting.

The interior was especially designed as a welcoming space as seen in a hospitality setting but much more inspired by the serenity of the ancient Buddhist temples. Giving an innovating, calming and easy vibe and shying away from the traditional shop like experience and be fully focused on the wellbeing of the visitors. This allowing people to wander freely and discover the materials in a way that stimulates the creative use of wood in daily architecture and there for innovating the way of modern showroom design focusing more on the overall experience of the visitors and inspiring creativity then in the use of product displaying only.

The showroom itself is characterized by the use of two-story vertical pillars concealing the offices and secondary walkways from the actual commercial display areas. Therefore, making space for more private areas for seating, and creative areas without being interfered by the actual day to day business.

Being vital for the functionality of the building in use, we made a distinguished separation of the spaces allowing to host several groups of people at the same time while combining all vital commercial business functions in one space.

The extended use of natural and raw building materials throughout the project was key in making sure that the atmosphere of the showroom was equally matched to the companies sustainable and reclaimed wood products and was made in a way to improve sustainability into the future.

Long lasting and environmentally friendly materials as raw clay, natural stone and shou sugi ban wood was used in the interior as well as the exterior of the building to give it its signature look.
