The brief was to develop an East London destination to accommodate a multitude of eclectic functions. Browns intended to create an intriguing and playful environment, merging e-commerce and physical shopping to establish a bold new blueprint for the future of Browns retail.
Browns East follows the principles of a concept store model, going beyond fashion with an offering that encompasses art and furniture. The store offers a regularly rotating edit of established and emerging labels, and in-keeping with its youthful and forward-thinking neighbourhood, takes a gender fluid approach.
The design was treated as a series of installations, placing sculptural forms within the open nature of the building with a delightful, elegant collection of materials, finishes and colour that adorn the overall concept. The main space on the ground floor is populated by a series of sculptural compilations that serve as interchangeable product displays.
