‘Velocity’ is the design theme of this new cinema project, you can see traces of related elements throughout the space to enhance the dynamics of the interior. We created visuals that resemble the light and shadows left behind by cars rushing through the highways in the cities. Such city night scenes have appeared in countless movie scenes, so we’ve decided to capture this mood and project it onto this design. For this project, we were inspired by the velocity-themed elements extracted from for example car racing movies. In order to create an innovative sense of technology and a futuristic touch, which were requested by the client, we visualised the concept by implementing various linear objects - resemblance of speed throughout the interiors. The moving panels are also excellent visualizations of messages appearing quickly like a turbulent stream, as if the way we are living in such a technology-driven society. We carried this technological vibe to the children playing area as well. The climbers were created by vertical and horizontal metal tubes - simple lines which are consistent with the design language. Visualization of velocity-themed elements extends to the auditoriums e.g. the LEDs linear lights as well. For a low-budget project, we think that we have successfully achieved something truly unique yet with a consistent theme throughout the whole interior. From the lobby, hallway, bathroom to the auditorium, even small details like signates, guests can see the effort we have put in to connect a coherent concept.
