Ideas and Art This is a joint office for a consulting company and its five affiliated companies. The entire floor is divided into tiered lanes, from the front to the entrance, conference room, coworking space called the "deck," and the director's private office, to provide the minimum space necessary for business. The view gets better as you go deeper into the building. Consulting work always requires ideas. We made three proposals to generate free ideas. The first was to scatter art throughout the space. 23 pieces of art were scattered in 12 locations in the office, and 9 domestic and international artists participated in the project. The work at the entrance is a commissioned piece that was created for this project. It provides a gallery-like experience of contemporary art and stimulates creativity in the office. The second is a wall structure that allows for instant discussion anywhere. As a consultant, I use a whiteboard a lot. They are essential for discussions. Therefore, we proposed to replace most of the walls in the room with whiteboard sheets, making it possible to write anywhere in the room without stress. The total area is equivalent to 200 whiteboards used in a normal conference room (about 300㎡). The structure allows for instant discussion with anyone at any time, and scribbling can be done on the side of the art. Thirdly, we scattered furniture and fixtures that do not look like an office in order to provide a stimulus that is different from a normal office. We coordinated the size and color of the space so that it can be used freely and creatively. In the library, we selected books that stimulate creativity such as art, photography, and design. The door at the back of the library is a hidden door to the salon that only the director knows about. What kind of future ideas will be born in the salon?
