The design was inspired by the building’s existing Art Deco architecture with a nod to the jazz era. Featuring a rich color palette of deep reds, blues and creams with brass and marble detailing and warm wood tones, the overall aesthetic is delicate and intricate and contributes to the elevated dining experience. The design offers a sense of elegance and refinement that celebrates the grandeur and nostalgia of ‘old New York’. Once inside the intimate setting, guests will find a 10-seat bar topped in dark honed marble and lined with custom bar stools adjacent to the main dining area. The dining area is defined by a large central 14’ diameter skylight from which hangs a multi-part Art Deco inspired light fixture made of brass, serving as a sculptural focal point within the space. A stunning 30-seat private dining room sits within the most preserved area during the renovation process, with original wood paneling, molding and a fireplace that has been transformed into a hidden liquor display cabinet creating a sense of discovery within the restaurant itself as well as a high level of service. Benno is the culmination of the journey through the hotel, it is the pinnacle of the experience.
