Under the leadership and cooperation of BASF Administration and Real Estate Management, the project was developed based on BASF design criteria and ideas; shifting from a multistorey, introverted physical working structure to an open plan office system based on a horizontal architectural structure. Simultaneously with this change in its physical environment the firm also changed its working culture and habits. The working concept inside the new physical building enabled the staff at all levels to socialise and work in interaction with one another. The company's environmentalist, innovative and social aspect combined with BASF's global design criteria to create an entirely new working and living area. The project is a Leed candidate, particularly due to its environmentally friendly and sustainable approach. The project consists of two storeyes with a net area of 2500 m2, connected by two main staircases designed by Mimaristudio, plus the main reception space on a separate storey. The staircases serve not only for vertical circulation, but also give access to podium areas that function as meeting and socialisation points. The stress on the corporate colour throughout the office is noticeable in these two areas that form its heart. Products for different uses designed for the work stations and the areas between them have been developed and chosen.
