Pathé Tuschinski renewed: New cocktail bar Bar Abraham offers signature cocktails inspired by films Go back in time and feel like a 1920s movie star. The arthouse section of the iconic Theater Tuschinski, the figurehead of Dutch film, has been given a complete makeover and has become even more authentic. In the run-up to the 100th anniversary of Theater Tuschinski in 2021, the screening rooms and foyer have now been completely renovated; in the style of the past, but with the technology and comfort of today. In addition to the beautiful screening rooms with comfortable luxury chairs and two-seater sofas, a completely new cocktail and drinks bar has also been opened: Bar Abraham - the contemporary ally of the eccentric Theater Tuschinski. Here visitors drink signature cocktails, surrounded by a warm atmosphere with bold colors and luxury materials. BAR ABRAHAM As a tribute to Abraham Tuschinski, the founder of the most beautiful film theater in the Netherlands, Pathé has named this new bar especially after him. Film lovers drink signature cocktails in this cocktail and drinks bar. In addition, Bar Abraham serves fine wines, Italian coffees and there is a varied food menu with small dishes to share and changing patisserie. Doron Kurz, Commercial Director Pathé: “ A visit to a film in Pathé Tuschinski was already special, but this renovation has made the experience even more luxurious and authentic. Thanks to the cocktail bar, visitors can now experience a complete day or evening with friends or family in the most beautiful theater in the Netherlands. With a snack and a drink in style and completely immersed in the grandeur of this historic theater ”. ARCHITECTURE THEATER TUSCHINSKI In 1921 Abraham Tuschinski opened the Theater Tuschinski. He wanted to start something special in Amsterdam. He said the following about this at the time: “Amsterdam has many theaters, but if I build one, it must far exceed all others. Grand as a temple and beautiful as a palace, a theater that is unparalleled in Europe, and that even makes the spoiled Amsterdam audience amazed with admiration. ” This urge for originality and admiration was always paramount in Theater Tuschinski: an imitation of other theaters was out of the question for Abraham Tuschinski. This is reflected in the many special elements that characterize the theater and the renovation. The renovation regards the foyer and three screens. A cinema visit to Tuschinski is a true experience. Each of the new screens has its own unique color pallet and atmosphere. Loveseats, tables and table lamps give each room a cozy feeling. The foyer immerses people in the cocktail bar atmosphere of the times of the classic movies with a contemporary twist. Intimate seating areas, warm materials and movie legends at the wall makes it a place where you like to stay for a drink after or before the movie. Neon signs and the eye-catching letter tray above the bar remind you of the movie theaters of the past.
