The design of Baker McKenzie’s offices is one that embodies the changing nature of legal practice, a profession perceived to be stuck in the past, and creates for them new ways of working with clients.
Gone is the traditional, hermetically sealed, single client floor model, with its long straight corridors of opaque meetings rooms designed to conceal activity. In contrast, there are warm and welcoming collaboration and social spaces where Baker McKenzie staff and their clients can work, learn, grow and celebrate together - spaces which are beautiful, light-filled, calm and yet energising so that clients and staff together are encouraged to linger and forge strong relationships over a cup of coffee.
An innovative approach to traditional offices, with inherent flexibility built in to allow for quick and easy changes, addressed the current and future needs of the lawyers and partners within the organisation, ensuring an equitable distribution of space and an even access to the tenancy’s major features.
Overall, the Baker McKenzie office has people and collaboration at its heart. Their new offices are a platform for open engagement and interaction, an environment where clients feel a part of the team, free to use the spaces as their own and to be inspired. But it is also an empowering place for staff to nurture their connections with both colleagues and clients.
