Symbolic see-saw tart display
A cheese tart specialty shop in a large station building that houses a bullet train (shinkansen) stop.
The display counter is a see-saw with a wide range of motion. It faces not the front of the shop, but the concourse side to appeal to a higher number of passersby. The see-saw is made of bronze to complement the freshly-baked yellow cheese tarts it will be showing. We believe the slant of the see-saw will stand out against the cool feeling of the station building.
The shop is an open, factory-like space to both sell and bake cheese tarts. The see-saw will be level when displaying rows of cheese tarts. The shop is also a place to watch the staff working efficiently, and see the process of tarts being created. The see-saw will change positions as work on the tarts progresses, drawing the eye and making the merchandise look even more enticing.
The see-saw moving up and down as staff complete their work is a symbol of the shop as it provides a new experience to customers.
