As the name suggest, Babel was derived from the ancient city of Babylon. A symbol of power and status. It was an advance city ahead of its time. Babylon at its glory was an experience only the mind could have imagined.
The design driver was to transport its members into another world, another experience. It had to be the inspiration to change; an experience like no other.
Situated at the roof top of a commercial building, its something least expected.
The basic colours of black and white were chosen. It’s an inspiration that all things returns back to the start point. The mono colors at the entrance, paints an understated curiosity, prompting the guest if the entrance was a Gym. A giant sculpture chiselling away the old oversize body and revealing the tone sculpted body, is the only clue that it’s the correct place.
A raw mild steel portal reflects the start of the journey of transformation, as the patterned screens filter gentle day light onto the passageway. A Sumo sculpture stays silent at the end of the marble clad corridor, greeting each guest.
Colours start to unfold at the main concierge. Guests are greeted in awe, with casual and plush powder pink sofas, tan leather couches, and a 4meter long cantilever solid timber slab-table top set against a vertical garden backdrop wall. Not forgetting the playful addition of a deep blue ceiling, completely immersing the experience and building up the excitement on what’s behind the glass doors.
