Located in Habitat by Honestbee, a high tech grocer and gourmet destination in Singapore, B Bar & Lounge operates as part of the bottle shop within the premises. The sequence of spaces begins at the discreet shopfront of the bottle shop, entering into a cellar-like space filled with a vast selection of spirits and wines. Benches built within the shelves encourage customers to linger. Turning the corner, one goes though a arched tunnel space with a concealed mirror door at the end. To the knowing customer, the cocktail bar is right behind accessed by sliding the mirror doors open. Entering the bar the warm understated tones of the bottle shop explodes into a composition of colours, textures and shapes. The walls are clad in brass and rich Prussian blue wood veneer panels. The bar shelf clad in green wood veneer and marble anchors the space, with geometric apertures cut into it framing the myriad of bottles there. In front of the shelf the bar counter finished in marble leather and brass invites customers to sit do to enjoy a drink and banter with the bartender. Walking further in, the wall panel slides open to reveal a private lounge area. The lounge is a lofty yet intimate space designed to be like a living room. The walls are swathed in wood veneer and blue tiles (a nod to the industrial nature of the building it is in). The furnishing is kept loose to allow for different group sizes, and for the space to function as an extension to the bar or as a separate private lounge.
