The Copenhagen store took over 9 months to construct and is the biggest Axel Arigato store to date, measuring 270sqm set across two floors and placed in a beautiful historical building. The interior blends brutalism with minimalism, and colourful accents stand out against the concrete infrastructure. Sculptures in their own right, futuristic cloud-like podiums throughout the store preserve the historical elements of the building, carefully renovated and stripped of all their newer additions. Central to the store is a monumental staircase of raw concrete, illuminated by mirrors and screens that enlarge the space and elevate the immersive experience. A distinct final touch to the store appears through the interactional artwork designed in collaboration with artist Kiri-Una Brito Meumann. Named the #SilverDerriere, a real life-size buttocks sculpture brought in to foster human connection amongst the harsh landscape.
