The design for AUTHOR starts with an awe to the nature and a respect for the nature. From ideology to practice, we try to avoid any superficial or excessive creation and lay more emphasis on cultural and value-based restraint, humility, and richness in design, beyond the boundaries of style, thus highlighting fusion and inclusivity.

Instead of taking aesthetics or artistry as the primary drivers of the design, our designer expresses beauty with genuine emotions, leading us to understand what we really want. In a space with changing rhythm, the design showcases a process that fulfills, anticipates, and exemplifies needs.

Catering to varied functions, the design tries to turn the pursuit of “permanence” into a lifestyle of “fluidity” in scenarios encompassing cultural elements. Hence, “migration” and “compromise” become the core themes in the space. In the words of our designer, “migration” stands for melody, while “compromise” represents the art to play the melody. How is the design achieved? Migration and compromise are engaged as they integrate temporal lifestyle. It is interactive and dynamic, not a linear evolution, but a development of variation, making them critical elements of the space.

The total project area is 275 square meters. The elevator is decorated with engaging art pieces, where the scenery and mood expressed gives us sufficient sense of ceremony. The living room is symmetrically designed, and on the floor laid the natural luxurious stones in a cross pattern. The western-style kitchen and fireplace are made with classic French luxury stone, showing the pursuit of ideas and cultural enrichment. The X space interacts with the living room and altogether expands the sense of space in the communal area, reshaping the resources and relationships based on scale. The dual-access walk-in closet connecting the master bedroom, along with the customized master suite, demonstrates the demand for high quality while fully displaying control over time and form……These details, from behavioral habits to emotional connection, create an elevated daily experience for the residents.

Through AUTHOR, our designer seeks to convey a deep reflection on the world, culture, and life. Meanwhile, based on such residential space, they are trying to reflect on topics like publicness, inclusivity, and diversity together with the dwellers.
