Completed in January 2017, we were engaged by Interchange based in Camden, London to create a co-working space.
Our brief in one sentence: “We are creators, leaders, and self-starters. We try new things, we challenge convention, and we’re not afraid to fail.”
To realise this brief, we opted to utilise all of our experience in the hospitality industry by way of infusing authenticity, togetherness and genuineness as core key words into this project.
Rather than creating a co-working space filled with communal desks with plethora or technology, we design the spatial plan to resemble a restaurant with an open plan kitchen - our message was: “We are always honest and as transparent as we can be. We create stuff here. We get shit done and to your taste. Be persistent and use fusion into your business.”
Finally, lots of oxygen-producing trees and ivy were installed into the mix. To be more consistent to the brand name, Atrium, we added an undulating polyethylene ceiling, for maximum natural light into this co-working space. A grand piano also helped in this dramatic melting pot of an entrepreneurial space.
Eat, work, play, create.
