In the meeting room, the combination of Belgian linen, bouclé fabrics and warm wood softens the presence of the exposed concrete beams. Meanwhile, the application of aluminium HPL is a nod to the industrial setting’s existing windows. - FLORE DE WACHTER

Accent is a leading multinational HR company with over 250 offices across Belgium alone. To enhance their work environments, Accent partnered with HOI to reimagine their IT department, focusing on a comprehensive redesign that met specific requirements.

Key project elements included optimizing the number of workstations, reintegrating current desks and taskchairs, creating both formal and informal meeting spaces, and ensuring top-notch acoustics and ergonomics. Additionally, the design incorporated a dedicated help desk prep and pickup zone for IT equipment. Effective communication and thorough preparation were essential, but thanks to the longstanding collaboration between Accent and HOI, the process was seamless.

The resulting design features a minimalist aesthetic characterized by sleek lines and open spaces, emphasizing natural light. Warm, muted tones and functional layouts foster a calm atmosphere, while contemporary materials and modern details inject a fresh, innovative spirit into the interiors. This project exemplifies the perfect balance between serene japandi style work environments and cutting-edge design, making it a model for future workspace transformations.

This project is also featured in the Daydreaming Series The Spa.

What are the daydreaming series about? Just a brief moment of escacpism, a natural mechanism of dealing with a stressfull society. The thought of going skiing or poolside relaxing sometimes seems more appealing than working and we can't always argue with that thought. We are not trying to stop you from daydreaming. It is about the moment of coming back to reality that you still love where you are. When daydreaming is the only distraction that is happening at the office, instead of bad ergonomics or any other reason for a non functioning workplace. Then we truely believe we did a good job.
