The Munich based architecture Studio Arnold / Werner is located on the ground floor of a 1906 erected, class listed Art Nouveau corner building, right on the border between the popular districts "Maxvorstadt" and "Schwabing".
Before the office could move into the new premises, we had the challenge to transform the small and dark laboratories of the previously located pharmacy into a high-quality working environment.
Our concept was to reconstruct the original floor height of 4,5m and deconstruct the small room structure with suspended ceilings.
For more airiness, we partially opened the wall between ground floor and lay back Mezzanine.
The restrained flat-polished screed floor increases the colorful geometric surface of this central wall, which is a collage, with wall cut outs, and adding of acoustic absorption panels (Soft Cells by Kvadrat) and the ash tree stairway with filigree railings.
The exquisite designed workplace is full of natural light.
At the entrance corner, the architecture studio welcomes public visitors, architectural customers and team members with a small espresso bar.
The “A/W Café” is designed like a valuable case in a combination of red linoleum surfaces with black marble.
The multifunctional link room between the Bar and the working space can be added by a wide pivot door to the bar or the office as needed.
