Brinkworth has worked with Aries to redefine the concept of retail, turning its space into an innovative canvas for creative expression and a platform for community interactions and events.

At the core of this design lies a commitment to preservation, adaptive reuse and innovative adaptability. This fluidity extends beyond the conventional retail experience with the store becoming a dynamic entity that evolves in real-time, fostering community engagement and participation offering more than just a transaction.

This is a destination for the Aries community that goes beyond fashion, opening its doors to cultural events, art installations, and takeovers.

The utilitarian and industrial aesthetics intentionally merge with premium materials, creating a unique ‘raw vs refined’ blend that resonates with the brand's identity. There are light-hearted moments of creativity; bespoke benches, designed to imitate the neoclassical columns so synonymous with the Aries brand, sit outside the store. The bespoke scaffold staircase is not merely a functional element but an arresting centrepiece. Leading visitors to the basement, it adds an unexpected touch of opulence to the industrial setting, perfectly aligning with Aries's penchant for surprise and originality.

This is a space which is highly functional and adaptable. Mobile furniture and an integrated infrastructure of power and data allow for quick and seamless re-configuration. The basement, designed as a multifunctional canvas, features a heavy-duty ceiling track - an infrastructure that is as a testament to the store's adaptability. This track is a dynamic element - capable of holding artwork, curtains for spatial division, products, or surfaces for projections, transforming the space based on the desired experience.

Preservation of the original fabric of the building as well as the decision to retain many original architectural features stands as a testament to Brinkworth and Aries’ dedication to sustainability. The existing, exposed ground floor walls are strategically perforated which allows for a versatile shelving and hanging system contributing to a transformative spatial layout.
The choice of materials for furniture and new elements is purposely considered to include re-used material, off the shelf ready-made elements and low carbon impact choices. A key example of this being the staircase which is made from pre-existing scaffolding elements and granite offcuts. This juxtaposition of utilitarian aesthetics with premium materials is not just a design choice for aesthetic appeal; it's a conscious decision that marries style with sustainability.

In conclusion this destination store transcends the traditional boundaries of retail. It stands as a harmonious blend of preservation, versatility, innovation, and sustainability—a testament to the brand's commitment to environmental responsibility, community engagement, and the constant push to redefine design and art boundaries while evolving in real-time.
