This window installation, created for the opening of the client´s new womenswear concept store in San Sebastián, features a geometrically aligned series of eight bicompartmental metallic structures each of which contain a set of eight 3D printed building blocks. The blocks are made from biodegradable materials designed solely for this project, inspired by the FW17 campaign which was shot in a local quarry. Each block requires in excess of 19 hours to print and has been elegantly crafted and finished ‘in raw’ with a sophisticated semi-translucent soft texture that evokes femininity. The result is an intriguing window display which represents a fracture in a mine suggesting a new direction for the brand. This window installation is the one of a series of two window displays with the shared fundamental concept of a singular metallic structure and its occupation of a common space. Each installation, Aperture & Ura (also submitted), has its own particular lighting arrangement and works independently, featuring distinct methods of visual communication. The display eliminates superfluous elements and only utilises those which epitomise the concept.
