New office culture for insurance companies: Office concept for AOK Rheinland/Hamburg
-Workspace with a homely character -Interior for digitalized processes and a relaxed working atmosphere
-Customer service redefined
-Sustainability and sound insulation as key design aspects
-Scalable furnishing concept that will be rolled out in around 60 AOK branches in areas ranging from 200 to 2,000 square meters in the states of NRW and Hamburg
Customer contact. New forms of customer contact, changed processes, digitally supported work content: Customer appointments are becoming more dynamic, and all the technical requirements for working with mobile devices were integrated into the furnishing concept from the start of planning.
The focus is on a service character and the feel-good factor for customers and employees. Consultation rooms, waiting areas and a variety of seating designs take all needs, from newborns to senior citizens, young and old, singles and families, and people with and without physical limitations into account. An open space offers freely selectable face-to-face scenarios on an area of around 120 square meters. For sensitive consultations there are shielded 'consultation boxes' all around.
Back office. The classic back-office workstations are located on the second floor of the AOK building in Mönchengladbach. A 200 square meter seminar room and conference and meeting rooms alternate, and colleagues meet at the central coffee point. Spontaneous team meetings take place in the open workstation at the long wooden table, power outlets and storage compartments are integrated. In the large multifunctional room, whiteboards, stools with wheels, high tables, stackable chairs, sideboards with plenty of storage space and flexible equipment are available for creative, dynamic and interactive collaboration. A catering kitchen is also located here.
Space for recreation. A large break room was created on the second floor: With a long dining table, a spacious relaxation lounge with sofas and beanbags, and an upholstered seating niche. - The design of the social spaces makes a massive contribution to employee well-being and corporate loyalty.
Functional and sustainable. Acoustically effective surfaces and impact sound-reducing floor coverings were integrated throughout; sound absorbers include multilayer felt wall panels, shell seats, and more. The real plant wall and other natural green plants improve the indoor climate.
The use of resource-saving materials and climate-friendly technologies characterizes the furnishing concept. For furnishings and materials, attention was paid to the relevant certifications and environmental labels. Selection criteria were freedom from pollutants, emissions and durability.
Recycled materials and furniture are essential components. The 'PET Felt' by ReFelt, recycled from PET bottles, was used for wall panels, room dividers and furniture such as the 'Pod Privacy Chairs' by designer Benjamin Hubert.
