When we think of typical franchise spaces, they are usually preoccupied with telling their own stories. It is difficult to give people something new in a standardized frame. When we needed to make a change, we focused on the 'place' rather than the brand. We wanted to show an 'unusual' scene of an everyday place where we walked and stayed in nature in the name of 'Angel-In-Us.’ There is a reflection of the sky in the water, swaying leaves, and the roar of primordial fire on the surface of the water. The experience that results from viewing familiar objects in a new light required the expansion of senses and breaking away from the brand. (These elements) elicit a new perspective on successive scenes without jeopardizing the relationship between the place and what is contained within it. We wanted to incorporate Suseong Pond's natural beauty into the space without revealing the brand of Angel-In-Us.

1F Environment
The long water space, which resembles a horizontal, calm pond, is finished in a black reflective material that contrasts with the off-white interior. Suseong Pond's familiar landscape and modest lights were reflected in the water area to create an unusual environment, and the space was separated into an off-white space of everyday life. To enable nature to infiltrate the room, water was employed as a medium. Nature is contained in the space formed by the blurring of boundaries between inside and outside, and there is a seat where you can think while gazing at nature.

1F Abyss
It conveys a different tale than the areas you've passed before since it's a private space where you can concentrate on the present. It's a place where you may have a moment-to-moment dialogue with the person sitting in front of you in a deep, black abyss.

2F Fragment of Wings
The reflecting material of the ceiling is used to optimize the impression of the water area on the second level, which can only contain the natural sky and Suseong pond. It was intended to be a place where people might ponder the passage of fire and water throughout time.

TERRACE Garden of Angels
To preserve the space's continuity and flow, the water area on the terrace is linked to the water space on the second level. In it is designed a device with changing functions, and it becomes a container for nature that fills with water and may be utilized as a stage area by causing water to flow. Bamboo blocks other people's views in the back, and a garden was planted on the terrace to allow visitors to see nature up close

While going around Suseong Pond, I noticed that the landscape seems to be linked inside the area, yet it is unrealistic, like an island floating on water. It was meant to broaden the spatial experience and break out from the 'Angel-In-Us' framing by looking at familiar locations and brands in new ways.
