Asking to be liberated from a dreary office complex into an inspirational headquarters focusing on connections, the designers found 55,000 SF of perfect architectural synergy. An existing building with the opportunity to connect all three floors – visually and physically– through a dramatic centrally-located open staircase.

Keeping employees and visitors oriented is central for connections. New elongated dropped 10 foot high ceilings connect one end of the floor to the other as a wayfinding device so no matter where you are, you can visually connect with teams across or along the floor.

A state-of-the-art AV system was designed throughout that uses a digital whiteboard that seamlessly shares files and video conferencing within the office, between offices, and also with customers around the globe. This technology was intentionally integrated in open, semi-open, and enclosed spaces, even in personal phone booths.

And while there are 365 workstations in the building, everyone finds themselves pulled to the neighborhood “Block” cafe, located near the roof shuttle elevator that leads to the highly coveted roof deck. The firm can now host customer events in-house, and employees congregate constantly throughout the day, finding limitless ways to connect with one another as well as connect with their raison d’être at the firm.
