The space for Gandía Blasco was designed on the basis of its material nature. The natural elements, air, light and earth.
Gandía Blasco’s philosophy is rooted in minimal materials and very clean shapes, as well as outdoor life, which is why in this proposal we wanted to provide aesthetic and material responses.
At Mayice, light, transparencies and lightness are very present in our work, as well as the creation of atmospheres and environments connected to well-being and emotion.
The space was created by constructing different atmospheres, through warm translucent layers with a lot of air and suspended light, generating opacities and depths and allowing the silhouettes of the different collections to show through.
Local materials were used and will be reused.
The filters in different layers suspended in warm tones create an atmosphere with veils and depths that reveal the silhouettes of the different collections, while guiding the visitor on a tour of the entire space and offering connections to the digital world.
The cork floor is a dark background that enhances the different collections, as well as representing the earth, providing comfort and acoustic insulation. All materials will be used in other exhibitions.
The light sources with energy-saving dimmable technology have been tailor-made to emphasise Gandía Blasco’s materials, colours and finishes in the most natural way possible. The ultra-light textiles are manufactured here in Spain using clean energy.
The scent of the stand is a mixture of cedar, leather, and cinnamon, and the floral arrangements are by Loreto Aycuens with dried flowers painted in clay on paper maché supports designed exclusively for the stand. The presence of internationally-renowned designers and their collections create an atmosphere full of harmony and a desire to enjoy the outdoors.
Designing this space has been a great challenge for us, and we would like to thank the Gandía Blasco family for their trust, as well as the whole team involved. We hope that the concept of lightness and air, as well as layers and veils that change with the light to reveal the silhouettes is transmitted, and that those who experience it live can take from it a lasting memory.
