For the jury: We are moved by the fact that just after the completion of our building, our architect Martijn was struck by the terrible disease cancer. He has just been informed that he has until the end of this summer. We would like to nominate the work he has done for us for a Frame award, he deserves this honour. Architect: Studio MFD Martijn Frank Dirks Office A Brand New Day/Lekker Fris Breda Surface area: approx. 1,600 m2

INTRODUCTION
At the end of November 2020, the building was ready to be transformed into the coolest office ever. The base of 85 driven professionals, who get the most out of every day. The demands were high, but the sky is the limit. Design a building where hospitality, work and leisure seamlessly blend together. An office where everyone wants to work and where many entrepreneurs in the hospitality industry will be jealous of. We want action, inspiration and humour! We want something more than a "home"!

CREATIVITY
Combining hospitality with a work environment? The office should be a source of inspiration with radiating energy where you can still find the peace to get mountains of work done. As soon as you enter the office you can feel this vibe. The work islands are spaciously laid out in a large open office and playfully subdivided by meeting cubes. These create intimate and cozy workspaces that provide energy, space and flexibility. As soon as you enter a meeting cube, you step into a specifically made world of e.g. Whiskey, Gin or Party Shots. Each meeting cube will leave you surprised. Let yourself be submerged in countless shapes, colors, materials and various interior styles.

INNOVATION
In the office building the latest equipment has been placed to be able to hold a quality semi-online meeting. Both the coffee bar and the cocktail bar are equipped with the most innovative equipment available on the market and were designed based on usability. The most important thing is incremental innovation. It's the details that make a big impact. It is all about the straight lines in the design, which not only increase efficiency, but are proven to contribute to social and work happiness. Innovation is not just about the high-tech side, but about service and connection in a complex design.

FUNCTIONALITY
The combination of work, meeting and relaxation can also be found in the office building. For instance it is possible to have a brainstorm on one of our swings or blow off some steam in the game room. The office is also designed to be flexible so that additional workstations can be installed in the future.

SUSTAINABILITY
The building is CO2-neutral, the entire roof is equipped with solar panels, so much so that the building is completely self-sufficient. There is no use of disposable materials. There are electric charging stations, we have Meatless Mondays, we make use of second-hand furniture and have room to separate the waste. But our focus on sustainability will not stop here, this is merely the beginning!
