At the threshold of downtown, the interior design for this 50-story condominium tower combines the richness of an urban experience with the elegance of Austin’s beloved trail and water’s edge. With unobstructed views of the lake and downtown, the design combines soft and hard edges, natural and manmade materials providing an organic language. The color palettes react to the project elevation, growing from bright, layered pastels throughout the first floor lobby, to deep jewel tones at the highest amenity level, inspired by Austin’s violet crown.

The inspiration drawn from water sculpting the environment highlights the creative vision behind the project. The color palettes and furnishings bring warmth and texture to the building while the custom materials, decorative lighting and unexpected architectural elements across the amenities feel related, though each offers unique character. The layered textures feel fresh and welcoming, with moments of quiet flowing into pattern and color, creating a balance. Poured concrete terrazzo floors mimic the gravel of the adjacent trail and a plaster ceiling has a subtly rounded shape like the underside of a boat.

The spatial design of 44 East is thoughtfully planned to enhance functionality. The vast, bright lobby with carefully layered furnishings creates an inviting entry experience. An inward curving atrium brings nature in and divides the space, creating a natural backdrop. Level 11 presents pastel hues, to emit an extension of the residents’ home, encouraging comfort and leisure. An abundant patio and round pool serve as the setting for the varied interior lounges which include areas for lounging, entertaining and family activities. The palette culminates with rich jewel tones on level 37, reflecting the space’s violet crown views of the Texas sky. This level serves as a modern lounge with a large, full moon-like fixture.

The building has received LEED Gold and WELL Health-Safety Rating certifications, indicating a commitment to wellness and sustainable practices. By elevating the expected standards of residential amenities while maintaining comfort and approachability, 44 East contributes to environmental well-being and sets a benchmark for sustainable residential design within the condominium sector. The strong connection to the outdoors prioritizes wellness for residents.
