Sage Realty (Sage), the leasing and management division of the William Kaufman Organization, brought on Fogarty Finger to reimagine the amenity program at 437 Madison Avenue. Debuting in Q1 2023 as part of the rollout of Sage’s new Oasis offering, 437 Madison’s amenity program consists of 7,700 square feet of amenity space on the Class A office building’s 14th floor.

Intended as an oasis for employees, this Nordic-inspired club can be used for cultural or business events. The club is organized with two entrances. One entry is off the main elevator lobby, which leads to the Terrace Garden and the Winter Garden. The latter space functions as a special event room, particularly when inclement weather prohibits usage of the terrace.

The second entrance leads into the Library. Fogarty Finger created the Library to be a collaborative co-working area, designed with phone rooms and decorative shelving. It is flanked by The Forum on one side, which features a Town Hall, Boardroom, Training Center, and Salon Meeting Room.

On the other side of the Library is the Lounge that playfully contrasts with the work-focused areas with a café bar and fireplace. The back bar stands out with its backlit glass blocks. Cove lighting highlights wallpapered ceilings in the bar area and coworking lounge. Decorative sconces and table or floor lamps enhance the space’s hospitality feel and introduce a human scale. A Meditation Studio is tucked away from the co-working spaces to provide a space for tranquility and private reflection.

The palette throughout the club features bright white tones with white oak for warmth, and icy blue accents walls. Crisp colors are paired with warm woods to create juxtapositions, and bronze metals can be found in the hardware, lighting, and door and office fronts to add a sophisticated touch. Upholsteries are in deep blues and rich neutral textures. The overall effect is a cozy, Nordic feel.

In contrast to the club rooms, the Winter Garden sports deep green hues and dark walnut woods. Moody and inviting, the space is perched above a corner of Madison Avenue and 50th Street. It boasts direct access from the Terrace Garden, which wraps around three sides of the building and encompasses 11,050 square feet.
