The new Sparks office in NCS Hub was the latest co-working office created with a floor area of 40,000 sf, including a recreation facility. It is a state-of-the-art facility designed to foster innovation and collaboration. It features modern workbenches with the latest technology, bright and creative meeting rooms, and comfortable breakout areas for relaxation and informal meetings. The office also includes an unmanned on-site cafeteria offering various food options. The counter surface was made of cement, and we invited the top management of NCS to have their hand-printed onto the surface to create a design instead of finishing it with any material.

A dome-shaped feature with built-in lighting was built to provide clients with another informal meeting space. A napping area was created to provide staff with a short break from work. Power naps are a simple yet highly effective way to refresh one’s mind, boost productivity, and maintain a positive mood throughout the day.

Furthermore, we adopt the concept of reduce, reuse and recycle and play our part to reduce environmental impact. To achieve this mission, we recycled existing fire-rated doors into tables; wooden chopsticks were gathered and constructed into a table; recycled computer chipboard into a table; and farm waste like rice husk to feature wall strips.

We recycled loose furniture from NCS’s parent company - Singtel office at Comcentre. We purchased used items like the pool table, guitars, foosball and hockey tables from Counsell. The reclaimed timber floor was used too. All these recycled products can be found in the recreation areas.

The new office prioritizes collaboration with open spaces, shared work areas, and meeting rooms designed for teamwork. It also promotes employee well-being and a sense of belonging to the team and working environment.

After the pandemic, a hybrid workplace became a requirement. However, NCS wanted to encourage her people to return to the office. Hence, we created a set of physical places like the recreation space where people are happy to interact with their peers and colleagues when they return to the office—places that shape how people interact and encourage social life after work. The result was promising, and the place was always packed with people during lunch and after work.
