101 PET, which stands for "embracing the pet lifestyle with 101% enthusiasm," is a multifunctional space that integrates pet boarding, grooming, and social retail. Its informal and unconventional design adheres to the scale of pet life and the interactive experience of coexistence with humans. It provides an alternative option for urban pet owners, creating a natural and comfortable home away from home for pets.
The space minimizes unnecessary design elements, maintaining an overall clean, bright, and practical aesthetic. Jumping symbols serve as the space's signature, with lively brand elements resembling paw prints left by pets scattered throughout various corners. From the coat racks for pet retail and pet changing stations to the second-floor anthropomorphized pet hotel, it creates a social space centered around pets.
In the center of the space, a massive load-bearing column serves as the primary structural support of the building, with the entire second-floor platform framed around it, and the overall space unfolds around this column. To mitigate the visual bulkiness of the column within the space, we've designed a set of flexible "bridge" structures for display shelves, which envelop the column. These structures incorporate dog leashes and leash clasps as tensioning elements, allowing the suspended platforms to fold up to form wall display panels, transforming the space into a temporary event venue. When the platforms are unfolded and lowered, they function as display tables akin to bridges. Around the column, a series of versatile display props have been designed, offering various configurations to meet different situational requirements, while diverse accessory options cater to the display needs of different merchandise.
The space is intelligently divided into two levels, with the ground floor housing pet retail and grooming areas, while the second floor accommodates the pet hotel and activity space. The entrance retains a partially double-height space, providing a sense of openness and brightness as sunlight streams through the expansive curtain wall glass. Large floor-to-ceiling glass panels are employed as the primary material for the upper-level walls, not only introducing natural light but also creating a novel and unique viewing experience. Customers can easily observe playful pets above, enhancing the interactive nature of the space. Additionally, staff on the second floor can monitor activities on the ground floor through observation windows, thereby improving operational efficiency.
The space features a combination of marine board, resin grilles, and metal profiles. A series of modular props have been designed, offering both a strong sense of integrity and flexibility. When combined with various metal accessories, these props fulfill various display and exhibition needs. Due to their portability and modularity, all props can adapt to different venue layouts and accommodate various event scenarios.
