Working in collaboration and partnership with Hudson Bay Company’s Global Store Design Team, FRCH was tasked with creating the first freestanding Saks shoe boutique. Located in the heart of downtown Greenwich, CT, only a 40-minute train ride from NYC, this quaint and historical town is home to high-end retailers and upscale restaurants, allowing urbanites a refuge from the bustling city. This small town feel allows for a more personalized, elevated experience and creates the perfect backdrop for Sak’s newest boutique. The goal was to create an environment that encourages guest to socialize and gather with ample lounge seating and a more residential feel. The soft materials, use of natural light and open style layout where created to make shoppers feel at home and welcome. The design style reflects a casual elegance with a feminine touch. The space creates a modern, elegant retreat while still paying homage to the original architecture. Purposefully leaving the brick wall and ceiling pipes exposed creates a marriage of design aesthetics – both new and old. White-washed brick and traditional honey oak flooring help transform the existing masculine architecture into a more feminine, softer environment, creating the ultimate destination for female shoppers.
